The AXIS Q1656-DLE Radar-Video Fusion Camera offers a cutting-edge solution for enhanced situational awareness by integrating both visual and radar sensor data into a single device. This fusion of technologies provides a more comprehensive view of the surveillance area, making it ideal for high-security applications. Equipped with a 1/1.8” image sensor, the AXIS Q1656-DLE delivers 4 MP resolution, ensuring clear and detailed video footage. Its rugged design is suitable for outdoor use, featuring a NEMA 4X-rated, IP66 and IP67 weatherproof enclosure, as well as impact resistance to withstand harsh environments. The camera is designed to operate in both day and night conditions, thanks to its advanced radar-video fusion technology and a Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU) that enhances object detection and recognition. The camera also supports Forensic WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and Lightfinder 2.0, ensuring high-quality video capture even in challenging lighting conditions. Its OptimizedIR technology, powered by efficient 850nm IR and White IR LED technology, ensures excellent night-time visibility while minimizing power consumption. Additionally, the camera comes with an IR-corrected, varifocal 3.9-10mm F1.5 i-CS lens, which features remote zoom and focus capabilities for flexible monitoring and precise adjustments.
The integrated radar unit operates within the 60.0 GHz – 61.5 GHz range and has a 95-degree horizontal field of detection. This radar capability, along with the radar-video fusion, allows the camera to classify humans and vehicles, offering advanced analytics like filtering by distance, customizable detection zones, and automatic tracking for PTZ cameras. These features provide more effective monitoring by identifying and following potential threats.
The AXIS Q1656-DLE offers multiple, individually configurable video streams, including H.264, H.265 with Zipstream, and Motion JPEG. It supports a 4 MP stream at up to 60 frames per second (fps), or 30 fps with WDR enabled, ensuring smooth and clear video recording. Advanced features like AXIS Object Analytics, video motion detection, radar motion detection, and AXIS Speed Monitor further enhance the camera’s ability to detect and respond to various events. The camera also includes shock detection and an active tampering alarm for added security. For improved cybersecurity, the AXIS Q1656-DLE includes Axis Edge Vault with a FIPS certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM), ensuring secure device authentication and protection against tampering. Additional image enhancements include barrel distortion correction, defogging, electronic image stabilization, and scene profiles that help optimize performance in varying environmental conditions.
The camera also supports MQTT for easy integration with other systems and features two-way audio, with audio detection using an optional analog or digital microphone. It provides supervised I/O for alarm and event handling, and a MicroSD/MicroSDHC memory card slot for optional local video storage. A serial port for RS422/485 communication adds further flexibility for system integration.
Power options include IEEE 802.3at Type 2 Class 4 (PoE+) or 10-28 V DC with redundancy, ensuring reliable operation even in power-sensitive environments. The camera is equipped with a built-in heater and Arctic Temperature Control, enabling it to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C (-40 ºF to 140 ºF). The package includes a removable sunshield, wall bracket, Torx T20 screwdriver, and cable glands for installation, though a midspan or power supply is not included. For regulatory compliance, the AXIS Q1656-DLE meets a variety of standards, including EN 300440, EN 301489-1, EN 301489-51, EN 62311, and FCC Part 15 Subpart C, ensuring reliable performance and compatibility across global markets.
